OpenAI has released GPT-6 Astra, a flagship model designed for business tasks — it leads in computer use, browsing, coding, cybersecurity, and science, and can run through common apps without an API. Early partners such as Cognition, Databricks, Hebbia, Box, and Figma report notable gains in code review, deck creation, and financial analysis, while OpenAI notes it is trained for greater output with fewer tokens and retries (pricing begins at $10/$50 per million input/output tokens). It is their most aligned model so far, showing fewer unintended actions on safety tests, yet it is the first to reach OpenAI’s “Critical” cybersecurity level, so stricter safeguards accompany it.
