Huawei and Qualcomm $QCOM Sign Multi-Year Patent Licensing Deal

Huawei and Qualcomm announced a multi-year patent agreement under which Qualcomm will pay to license Huawei's US-registered patents spanning 5G, computing, AI, networking, and other technologies.

Huawei said the deal reflects the payoff from its long-term R&D investment, particularly in communications technology, an area where it says it leads and which generates meaningful licensing revenue for the company. Qualcomm said the agreement helps reinforce its 5G technology leadership, including through its own licensing business with customers.
