Amazon $AMZN Refreshes Kindle Lineup — Lighter, Thinner, with New Aluminum Models and a Page-Turn Remote

Amazon updated its Kindle family across the board:

• Kindle (base model):6-inch screen, now lighter and thinner with slimmer bezels, improved hardware for 6 weeks of battery life, and 30% faster page-opening. Comes in multiple colors, with purple "Ube" as the marketed hero color. Starts at $149.99 (16GB) in Ube or Graphite; a new aluminum-body version starts at $189.99 (32GB) in Alpine Sky or Seaglass Green.

• Kindle Paperwhite: Thinner and lighter than before, waterproof. Standard 16GB in Graphite starts at $199.99; a Signature 32GB aluminum version in Graphite or Seaglass Green starts at $249.99.

• Kindle Colorsoft: Improved display tech for more even brightness and sharper color across the screen. A 32GB aluminum Signature edition with auto-adjusting brightness starts at $319.99; the base 16GB model starts at $289.99.

Amazon also launched a new accessory, Kindle Click— a Bluetooth remote for turning pages hands-free (useful under a blanket or while running on a treadmill). It's priced at $34.99 and works with Kindles going back to 2024 models.
