Samsung Unveils Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Tab S12+
Samsung introduced its new flagship tablets, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Tab S12+, both running a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip with up to 61% faster NPU, 19% faster CPU, and 17% better GPU performance than last year's Tab S11 Ultra. Both ship with Android 17 and One UI 9.
The Tab S12 Ultra features a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and is just 5.1mm thin, making it Samsung's thinnest Galaxy Tab yet, with an 11,600 mAh battery rated for up to 23 hours of video playback and a top configuration of 16GB RAM plus 1TB storage. The Tab S12+ gets a 12.6-inch display with slimmer bezels, a 10,600 mAh battery good for up to 21 hours, and tops out at 12GB RAM with 512GB storage. Both models share IP68 water and dust resistance, a new 3D vapor chamber for cooling, peak brightness of 1,600 nits, 4-channel spatial audio (double the previous generation), a bundled S Pen, 45W charging that takes the battery from 0 to 100% in about 95 minutes, and support for up to seven generations of OS and security updates.
On the software side, both tablets include a six-month trial of Google AI Pro, along with Gemini and Gemini Notebook integration, plus a context-aware Samsung Browser that can summarize content across open tabs. Notably, Adobe Photoshop comes pre-loaded — a first for Android tablets — alongside bundled trials for Notability, Goodnotes, LumaFusion, Notion, and Clip Studio Paint, together valued at roughly $600.
Both models go on sale October 7 in Gray and Silver, with an optional Pro Keyboard and Book Cover Keyboard Slim available separately.
